Commune with it by getting close enough to get an "Interact" prompt, the keybind/button used is typically the same as the one used to attack. Follow the trail, and once the Killer is in close proximity to the Glyph, it will appear. The trail looks like small glowing purple puddles, scattered in the direction that the Glyph is moving. The Killer will likely not have time to commune with it at first sight, but once it starts to move away, the Purple Glyph will leave a trail. Once a survivor is hooked, the Killer who has activated the challenge will see a Purple Glyph spawning. Another unique aspect of Purple Glyphs, other than the fact that it only presents itself to the Killer, is that it will move. The first thing a Killer must do in Dead by Daylight in order to commune with a Purple Glyph, is to hook a Survivor.

Related: Dead by Daylight: How to Use Boom Totems (& What They're For) Purple Glyphs are a new addition to the Halloween event, and are the only Killer-exclusive glyph in the game. Both are accessible by the Survivors, while only Red Glyphs can be accessed by the Killer. In the past, there have been Red and Blue Glyphs in Dead by Daylight rifts. Oftentimes, they make the game more difficult by diverting the player's attention to something other than the main goal. The challenges are similar to those in other games, requiring players to perform specific tasks, altering the way they play the game. These challenges often give rewards, like Rift Fragments or Bloodpoints. There are many challenges for both Survivors and Killers in Dead by Daylight.
